Monday Musings: Wedding Planning Vibes

I know most of my readers have already been through the mayhem of planning their wedding, but some of you out there have yet to experience the joy of putting on such an event. I'm trying to focus on the fun part – figuring out the look & feel. This week I'm musing about all my wedding planning inspiration. I know – two wedding planning posts in a row – I promise I'll slow it down after this one.

Monday Musings

1. Color palettes

First question someone asks when I'm talking to them about my wedding... "what are your colors?" Here's the truth – I don't really have any. I guess I do, but it's a HUGE palette, not limited to blush and bashful (if you get the reference - I love you). We're getting in December and I knew that I didn't want to do your typical winter wonderland theme. I'm drawing inspiration from a lot of place, but we're going to have a combination of greens, some red-ish pinks, blush, mustard, and blue. It took me a while to get to this combination of colors, here are some of the possibilities I came up with along the way.

2. Paper Goods

Picking (designing) an invitation suite has been the hardest part for me so far. I've struggled with how I want to set the tone for our big event. First, I have Dom taste and a High Life budget when it comes to the paper goods. I know that not everyone feels the same way about printed materials as I do, but if you do, you know... the struggle has been real. I'm excited with what I've come up with, it's not perfect, but it's perfect for our event. Here are some of my favorite suites I've found along the way. As you can see, my tastes are all over the place. The best part about this whole experience is I've learned that I LOVE working on projects like these. If you have an event coming up and you would like a custom invitation suite, I'd love to help!

3. Table Tops

I'm all about a perfect place-setting. I think if I could style tables for the rest of my life I'd be happy. I love setting a table to create the perfect ambiance to bring people together to enjoy a meal. Here's some inspiration I've found along the way. As you can see I love a simple table, I'm obsessing over brass candle sticks and eucalyptus.

4. Florals

Fresh flowers are one of my favorite things. I love heading to the flower marketing, bringing home fresh flowers, and creating an arrangement every week. For my wedding I'm hoping to keep that same "wild" vibe. I don't want anything to feel too tailored. Getting married in winter means my flower options are slightly limited/expensive. I could spend all day looking at beautiful bouquets for inspiration. Here are a few of my favorites. Who else if feeling inspired by all this natural beauty?

5. Just for Fun

I want our wedding to have an element of elegance, but I also want to make it fun for everyone attending. We're a playful couple, and I want to carry that through our wedding day. Here are some ways I'm thinking of adding some fun to our big night.
